Is marketing loosing over IT ?

--

In 2001, the Networld Interop in Las Vegas was a key milestone for the VoIP technology.

It was everywhere and soon replaced business telephony.

What happened to legacy PBX maintainers and similar functions in businesses ? They disappeared and were absorbed by IT departments. Technology aspects were complex enough to be delegated to experts.

Cloud technologies, all-IP solutions, 5G are disrupting the broadcast industry.

What is the height of the digital transformation tsunami ?

Thinking about core business functions and innovation makes me wonder. How digital transformation is actually perceived in organizations ?

How come marketers are not mastering the topic ?

Is marketing loosing ?
